Fanxchange Review: Legit, Reliable or a Scam?

Fanxchange is a third-party ticket retailer. It is a chancy alternative to buying tickets straight from the venue or a more reliable ticket retailer.

After reading more than 55 reviews around the internet, we cannot reccomend Fanxchange as a trustworthy site to buy tickets.

Our Recommendation: If you're looking to get the best seats or the best price then we recommend using SeatGeek because it tends to have much lower prices and a better selection of tickets and events than Fanxchange.

SeatGeek
We recommend SeatGeek because it tends to have the largest selection of tickets and lowest prices.

Pros:

  • An app is available for convenience.
  • The website is clean and easy to navigate.

Cons:

  • Their terms and conditions fine print is hard to understand.
  • Tickets often randomly end up canceled without warning.
  • Sometimes charge prices higher than indicated in the listing.

What Are Fanxchange's Service Fees?

Fanxchange tends to have fairly high fees which is one of the reasons why it's not one of our recommended ticketing sites.

I ordered Game 6 World Series tickets and received an email that my request had been accepted. My credit card was charged. I then received a phone call from a FanXchange employee who verbally confirmed my order details and reported to me that the tickets would be emailed to me shortly. I travelled to Los Angeles, informed my father, a lifelong Dodgers fan who has never been to a Dodgers World Series game, and was excited for the game. On the day of the game, I received an email from FanXchange that the tickets were no longer available and that my order was cancelled. I contacted the company and they reported that the order was NOT confirmed and thus in their rights to cancel it. Essentially, this company advertises seats at high prices with high fees, collects money from far more buyers than seats available, and then sends out cancel notices on the day of the event to fans that are no longer able to get tickets to the event they have prepared for.

+ PROS: This company exists to scam consumers

    Fanxchange website for tickets

    - CONS: Attempted to purchase Red Sox World Series tickets with my friend. Received confirmation of credit card info. Next day received email to contact re: some info. My friend called and confirmed then later received email stating order cancelled as tickets no longer available. Rechecked site and found tickets section/row that we ordered were in fact still listed and now $300 more in price. Called them back and they said they attempted to call us the day before but were unable to reach (no message on my friend’s cell). Attemptex then to purchase the tickets at the price quoted the other day but again they said not available. Felt it was a total scam to get more money. Would never use again!!!
