Poshmark Reviews 2022 - Is It Legit & Safe or a Scam?

Poshmark is a marketplace for buying and selling used clothing. You buy and sell clothing directly with other people, with Poshmark acting as a middleman.

Poshmark is safe to buy from because any problems will generally be resolved in favor of the buyer. Since sellers are selling used clothing anyways, this is pretty fair.

Our Recommendation: We like the idea of Poshmark, but in practice, we can't recommend it. Buying used clothing is difficult, and when you buy online you can't even see or smell it before buying. If you're looking for alternatives, it's probably safer to stick with Amazon.

My Experience With Poshmark

I have a fast-fashion problem. I’m constantly shopping and buying cute clothes, but I only wear them a few times before I get sick of them and replace them with something new. I don’t want to buy clothes and just throw them away, but I also want to shop and buy cute things without everything just piling up in my closet.

Vintage and used stores have been a big deal for the past ten years, but they usually don’t have exactly what I’m looking for. They also don’t usually pay much, if anything, for stuff you sell to them. Typically you can only donate, and most donations end up in a landfill in Africa anyway.

To be honest, I didn't think much of Poshmark at first and was strictly a buyer. But after my friend convinced me to start selling, I changed my mind. It has been so nice to have the flexibility to sell clothes that are just taking up space, and it helps me keep my wardrobe fresh and minimizes the total money I spend.

Poshmark isn’t for everyone, but there’s definitely a market out there. You can think of Poshmark as an online marketplace or platform that brings buyers and sellers together. This means that even though Poshmark is a legit company, you never really know if individual buyers and sellers on the site won't try to take advantage of you.

Everyone has gained a little weight or taken a new job that didn’t require their old wardrobe. If you have clothes that are just building up in your closet, you can at least try to make a little money off of them. And on the buyer side, you can score some amazing deals that'll help stretch your fashion budget.

Online shopping is huge, and by now we’ve all had a lot of good and bad experiences. Nowadays, it seems like everyone’s buying some sort of product on the internet because it’s cheaper or a better deal. Occasionally you do run across bad sellers who take advantage of the system by selling fake products like knock-off perfumes.

That being said, the vast majority of people are legit, and good sellers build up a reputation pretty fast, while bad sellers get low ratings and complaints. It’s honestly pretty easy to avoid the bad ones.

With this in mind, Poshmark has put together a system to make sure the marketplace stays safe and fun for everyone. If you get an item from a seller that isn't up to your standards—for example, if it's damaged, the incorrect size, or otherwise not as described—you have the option to reject it, return it, and obtain a refund. Poshmark won't give the seller your money until you've “accepted” the item.

As a seller, shipping is one of your most important responsibilities. With Poshmark's prepaid shipping labels, you can make sure that your shipments are safe and secure. As long as you use the prepaid shipping labels provided by Poshmark, your shipments are safe.

However, one prevalent issue among sellers is the company's return policy. If an item is “not as described” in the description, buyers have the right to return it. This implies that if you, as the seller, ignore a minor flaw (such as a snagged thread) and fail to include it in the description, the buyer has the right to reject the item and return it for a refund. In these situations, Poshmark prefers to side with the buyer, so make sure your postings are very precise and clear to avoid them.

Unfortunately, since the clothes are used, there are bound to be problems, buyers can be overly picky, and sellers generally don’t tell about all of the little flaws in the clothes. Maybe it's human nature, but it makes it hard to trust Poshmark.

How Does Poshmark Work?

Poshmark is a social marketplace where people buy and sell used clothes and fashion accessories. It’s a popular way to buy and sell used clothing, and it has a lot of devoted fans.

Most customers are happy with Poshmark, and most people understand that buying used clothing comes with some risks. Poshmark tries hard to protect buyers by making returns easy, but no system is perfect.
