How Does SeatGeek Work?
In the words of SeatGeek: “SeatGeek is a search engine for finding tickets to live events. You can use it to find tickets to concerts, sports, Broadway and comedy shows — pretty much any kind of local, ticketed performance. Like other search engines, SeatGeek searches for tickets all over the web, which means that you’ll see far more results and find better deals than if you tried searching only one or two sites on your own. SeatGeek will help save you both time and money in your search.”
I can personally attest to the time and money saving aspect of SeatGeek because since it is an aggregator, it eliminates the need to browse multiple sites to find the best price.
My Experience With SeatGeek
I spend the majority of my time on ticket resale sites, buying and selling tickets for a number of events. It's safe to say I know what most people have to offer me before they can tell me.
“SeatGeek” is a name I hear all of the time. It's a name that undeniably echoes across the internet. Youtubers endorse it. Influencers share their promo codes regularly. If so many people have something good to say about it, it has to be legit, right?
SeatGeek looks stellar from the first few seconds you're on the site. It's simple to search. It's simple to browse. The website is undeniably inviting which is something I really do value in a website. It feels like they're putting effort into getting me to trust them. It feels like they're putting effort into me having an enjoyable experience on their site period, which is something I appreciate, especially when it comes to a service that has something to do with:
1. my money
2. my experiences.
As someone who values my time and the quality of that time, I'm beyond happy that it feels like SeatGeek acknowledges that my time is worth it.
Not only does SeatGeek respect my time, but they also respect my money.
Can someone say “Price Match Guarantee?”
SeatGeek offers a Price Match Guarantee (under certain guidelines, of course), that allows me to purchase tickets at one of the lowest prices available anywhere, online or otherwise. As long as the ticket is generally comparable, I can consider it mine through SeatGeek. This is particularly nice because it gives me the opportunity to get to know one ticket site 100%.
In theory, if I could establish some sort of trusting, digital relationship between myself and a ticket resale site, my life would be better for it.
I like to keep my life fairly simple when I can, and SeatGeek offers me those blissful simplicities like where my seats are before I buy tickets. SeatGeek has an interactive seating chart in 3D. That means I get to not only see how far I'll be from the stage but also how many seats are open near me and if there will be anything getting in the way of my view. I never want to be seated behind a support beam again, and I'm sure many would agree that a concrete pillar obscuring their view is a dealbreaker.
Whether it's a Broadway show, a sold out concert, or the game of the season, I can usually trust SeatGeek to lead me to a good seat for the right price. SeatGeek also does a nice thing where they rate the tickets they find on a ten-point scale based on the location, price, and feedback from others who have purchased similar tickets. Though I don't know if I can fully believe a website rating tickets presented on their own website, it does provide a nice visual and at least adds an additional opinion, just in case uncertainty strikes.
At the end of the day, SeatGeek lets you see it all. If we're talking about true transparency in a ticket website, I would have to say this is close to as good as it gets.
Want to see your seat? Check.
Want to know just how much it will cost? Check.
Want to track your order? Check.
Want to have a good time? With SeatGeek, check.
Issues With SeatGeek
Since SeatGeek is a search engine, there is no real customer service for SeatGeek itself. If any issues arise, you will have to go through the customer service of the website where the ticket sale originated.
What Are SeatGeek's Service Fees?
SeatGeek has fully transparent service fees that you can see when you're browsing tickets. You'll never be surprised by any checkout fees which is rare in this industry.
SeatGeek Popularity
SeatGeek is currently the 14,481 most visited website in the world according to Alexa.com. This makes SeatGeek one of the most visited and popular ticketing websites in the world.
SeatGeek Refund Policy (Security, Trust & Reliability)
From SeatGeek's Ticket Guarantee: “All tickets that appear on SeatGeek have a full money-back guarantee, except for eBay which has its own seller policy.”
I ordered Game 6 World Series tickets and it was my first time ordering through a reseller. I was a bit worried. Thankfully all went smoothly! The tickets arrived on time and there weren’t any issues. Will be using SeatGeek again.
Nothing but great experiences with SeatGeek. I highly recommend it!
