TicketZoom Review: Legit, Reliable or a Scam?

TicketZoom is a third-party ticket reseller that has had some history of negative reviews. Obviously, you should do your own research before making a decision on who you'd like to purchase from.

After reading more than 70 reviews, we don't recommend TicketZoom as a reliable source for ticket purchasing.

Our Recommendation: If you're looking to get the best seats or the best price then we recommend using SeatGeek because it tends to have much lower prices and a better selection of tickets and events than TicketZoom.

My Experience with TicketZoom

To understand where I'm coming from, you need to know that I deal with ticket websites every day as a ticket buyer and seller. Dealing with ticket sites like TicketZoom is just part of the job.

From the start, Ticketzoom was clearly unorganized. This made it very difficult to find tickets, much less good tickets. As someone who is not always sure what they are looking for but rather someone who does a lot of browsing, I wasn't left with many options besides typing into the search bar. TicketZooms seems like a website that is tailored toward people who know exactly what they want.

Ticketzoom seems to have a lot of options from sports all the way to theatre and musicals. There are a good number of events listed. However, considering the range of ticket prices a venue normally offers, it was strange seeing that every single ticket, regardless of the type of event (or type of seat) was priced high. It was as if this website had no diversity in price. Every ticket was just flat out expensive. On top of the already pricey tickets, TicketZoom does that thing other less-reputable ticket websites do and added huge service fees on top of the high price. These “service fees” are never discussed; they just simply “are” which always comes off as unprofessional.

Good websites have a payment process that is simple, quick, and accurate. I have seen it. It does exist. Ticketzoom starts like that, asking you to simply put in your credit card information. However, your total cost does not pop up immediately. Like many others, I like to know what my total is BEFORE I put in any of my personal information.

I've had a small, personal experience with TicketZoom. Without coming to me first, my sister-in-law purchased tickets for a Lady Gaga concert in New York while she was on vacation. She was in a bind and desperate. With “cheap tickets” and “resale tickets” being her Google searches, she was lead to TicketZoom through a sponsore ad. She knew the tickets would be more expensive than they would have been otherwise, but she didn't realize just how much. I did price comparisons online to other ticket websites, and tickets through Ticketzoom were literally 10 times the price of the same ticket on other websites. That was just the ticket alone. The service fees that they charged her were otherworldly.

I decided to call customer service for her to see if we could get a refund and purchase from a more reputable resale site, but the phone just rang. My e-mail to their customer service also went unanswered.

I personally stay away from TicketZoom because they always seem like they don't want customers. Their website is seriously outdated, and like previously mentioned, hard to navigate. They like to plaster their website with their questionable guarantees and security promises instead of with the tickets they have to offer. They don't pay attention to detail, so it's hard to believe that they have my best interest in mind. I will continue to stick with the more reputable ticket resale sites.

Pros:

  • Track package with UPS for free.
  • A decent FAQ section on the website.

Cons:

  • The quantity of tickets purchased is often increased and charged to the provided credit card.
  • Their customer service department is slower at responding than much of their competition.
  • Very strict refund policy.

What Are TicketZoom's Service Fees:

Unfortunately TicketZoom tends to have very high checkout fees.

About TicketZoom:

TicketZoom.com is your source for premium sports, concert and theater tickets. TicketZoom.com has provided consumers a safe and easy way to purchase tickets to top events. TicketZoom.com is a resale marketplace and is not a box office or venue. Prices may be above face value.
