Viagogo Review: Legit, Reliable or a Scam?

Viagogo is a supposed ticket retailer; however, their values are set in money and not in people. They are known for grossly overcharging by jacking up prices on "limited" tickets. There are also extensive complaints on the internet about Viagogo's lack of customer service and support.

We have done extensive research about Viagogo and concluded that it is not a safe or trustworthy website to purchase from.

Our Recommendation: If you're looking to get the best seats or the best price then we recommend using StubHub because it tends to have much lower prices and a better selection of tickets and events than Viagogo.

SeatGeek
We recommend SeatGeek because it tends to have the largest selection of tickets and lowest prices.

Pros:

  • Large selection of tickets across sports, shows and events
  • Have been in business for many years

Cons:

  • They source their tickets from random places/people.
  • They rarely, if ever, address customer issues.
  • They don't offer refunds.

What Are Viagogo's Service Fees?

Viagogo tends to have fairly high fees which is one of the reasons why it's not one of our recommended ticketing sites.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE (really they are a disservice) to paying customers. I bought two tickets to a Justin Timberlake for my wife for Christmas. Concert in Jan. in DC. Right side and in front of the stage on the first level of arena. When I got the link to download the tickets they were for a show in another city in April! I contacted customer service and they gave me a link to other tickets I could choose from. Great I thought. Well they tickets they gave me to choose from were behind the stage or on very highest level of the arena. I went to their web site and they were selling two tickets in the same section I bought mine but they would let me exchange for those tickets because they were more expensive than the two I bought in the SAME section! They said it’s “policy” to replace for the same price but not the same view. They won’t budge and you can’t speak to a manager. This is a huge rip-off. NEVER use this service!
